The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
This Hadith highlights the reward and spiritual value of earning for one’s family. Likewise, for those who enter the world of business with honesty and integrity, the Prophet ﷺ said:“Whoever earns to support his parents, children, and dependents, is in the path of Allah.” — [al-Ṭabarānī]
These words of our beloved Prophet ﷺ show that halal work and business are not just worldly goals—they are deeply rooted in our Deen. While some may say, “If Allah wills, He will provide,” remember that earning through halal means is a part of tawakkul—putting in effort while trusting in Allah’s decree. Wealth is not everything, but without it, essential needs and responsibilities cannot be fulfilled.“The truthful merchant will be raised with the Prophets, the truthful, and the martyrs.” — [Tirmidhi]
So today, we must also act wisely. Begin by securing halal income for yourself, and once you're stable, work toward building a business that benefits others. Not only will this help you grow, but it will also create jobs and uplift the Ummah. We must strive to reach a level where we, as Muslims, lead in business, ethics, and administration—capable of influencing the world with justice and wisdom.
