Chapter 112: Surah Al-Ikhlas (سورة الإخلاص)
Meaning: The Sincerity / The Purity | Has 4 Verses | Revealed In: Mecca (Makki Surah)
1. قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
Say: He is Allah, the One and Only.
2. اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ
Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.
3. لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ
He neither begets (gives birth) nor is born.
4. وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ
And there is none equal or comparable to Him.
Surah Al-Ikhlas affirms the oneness and absolute uniqueness of Allah, making it the essence of Tawheed (monotheism). Reciting it is equal to one-third of the Qur’an in reward, as stated by the Prophet ﷺ. It was frequently recited by the Prophet ﷺ in prayers and before sleeping for its immense spiritual value.
