Chapter 21: Surah Al-Anbiya’ (سورة الأنبياء) - Simple English Translation
Meaning: The Prophets | Total Verses: 112 | Revealed In: Mecca (Makki Surah)



1. ٱقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍ مُّعْرِضُونَ
The time of people's reckoning has drawn near, yet they turn away in heedlessness.

2. مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحْدَثٍ إِلَّا ٱسْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ
No reminder comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are playing.

3. لَاهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْۗ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجْوَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟
Their hearts distracted. The wrongdoers conceal their private conversation...

4. هَلْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُكُمْۖ أَفَتَأْتُونَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ
Saying: "Is this anything but a human being like you? Will you then yield to magic while you see it?"

5. قَالَ رَبِّى يَعْلَمُ ٱلْقَوْلَ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
The Prophet said, “My Lord knows every word spoken in the heavens and the earth. He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.”

6. بَلْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَضْغَـٰثُ أَحْلَـٰمٍۭ بَلِ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌۭ
They say: "No! \[These are] confused dreams! No, he has fabricated it! No, he is a poet!"

7. فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِـَٔايَةٍۢ كَمَآ أُرْسِلَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
"Let him then bring us a sign as the previous messengers were sent \[with miracles]."

8. مَآ ءَامَنَتْ قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهَآۖ أَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Not a single city among those We destroyed before them believed – so will these believe?

9. وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًۭا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ
And We did not send before you \[O Prophet] except men to whom We revealed...

10. فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
So ask the people of knowledge if you do not know.

11. وَمَا جَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ جَسَدًۭا لَّا يَأْكُلُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ خَـٰلِدِينَ
And We did not make them \[the messengers] bodies that did not eat food, nor were they immortal.

12. ثُمَّ صَدَقْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْوَعْدَ فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُمْ وَمَن نَّشَآءُ
Then We fulfilled Our promise to them, and We saved them and whomever We willed...

13. وَأَهْلَكْنَا ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
But We destroyed the transgressors.

14. لَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَـٰبًۭا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
Indeed, We have sent down to you a Book in which is your mention. Will you not then understand?

15. وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍۢ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةًۭ
And how many cities We have shattered that were unjust...

16. وَأَنشَأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
And We raised after them other people.

17. فَلَمَّآ أَحَسُّوا۟ بَأْسَنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ
Then when they felt Our punishment approaching, they began to flee from it.

18. لَا تَرْكُضُوا۟ وَٱرْجِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَآ أُتْرِفْتُمْ فِيهِ
\[It was said], “Do not flee! Return to your luxuries and your homes..."

19. لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْـَٔلُونَ
"...so that you may be questioned."

20. قَالُوا۟ يَـٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ
They cried, “Woe to us! We were truly wrongdoers!”

21. فَمَا زَالَتْ تِّلْكَ دَعْوَىٰهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ حَصِيدًۭا خَـٰمِدِينَ
And that cry of theirs did not cease until We made them like a harvest mowed down – lifeless.

22. وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَـٰعِبِينَ
And We did not create the heaven and the earth and everything between them in mere play.

23. لَّوْ أَرَدنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهْوًۭا لَّٱتَّخَذْنَـٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّآ إِن كُنَّا فَـٰعِلِينَ
If We intended to take a diversion, We could have taken it from what is with Us – if We were to do so.

24. بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِٱلْحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلْبَـٰطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُ
Rather, We hurl the truth against falsehood, and it crushes it...

25. فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌۭ ۚ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ
And behold, it vanishes. And woe to you for what you describe!

26. وَلَهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِۖ
To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth...

27. وَمَنْ عِندَهُۥ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِۦ
And those near Him are not arrogant about worshipping Him...

28. يُسَبِّحُونَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ
They glorify Him night and day, never tiring.

29. أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ءَالِهَةًۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ هُمْ يُنشِرُونَ
Or have they taken gods from the earth who resurrect \[the dead]?

30. لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِمَآ ءَالِهَةٌ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَا
Had there been within the heavens and earth gods besides Allah, they would both have been ruined...

31. فَسُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
So exalted is Allah, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.

32. لَا يُسْـَٔلُ عَمَّا يَفْعَلُ وَهُمْ يُسْـَٔلُونَ
He is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned.

33. أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةًۭۚ قُلْ هَاتُوا۟ بُرْهَـٰنَكُمْ
Or have they taken gods besides Him? Say, "Bring your proof..."

34. وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًۭا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِم
And We sent not before you except men to whom We revealed...

35. وَمَا جَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ جَسَدًۭا لَّا يَأْكُلُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ
And We did not make them \[the messengers] bodies not needing food...

36. وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ لَا يَخْلُدُونَ
Nor were they immortal.

37. ثُمَّ صَدَقْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْوَعْدَ فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُمْ وَمَن نَّشَآءُ
Then We fulfilled Our promise to them and saved them and those We willed...

38. وَأَهْلَكْنَا ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
And destroyed the transgressors.

39. لَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَـٰبًۭا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
Indeed, We have sent down to you a Book in which is your mention. Will you not then understand?

40. وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍۢ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةًۭ
And how many a city that was unjust have We shattered...

41. وَأَنشَأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
And raised after them another people.

42. فَلَمَّآ أَحَسُّوا۟ بَأْسَنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ
Then when they sensed Our punishment, behold, they fled from it.

43. لَا تَرْكُضُوا۟ وَٱرْجِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَآ أُتْرِفْتُمْ فِيهِ
\[It was said], "Do not flee but return to the luxuries you were given..."

44. لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْـَٔلُونَ
"...that you may be questioned."

45. قَالُوا۟ يَـٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ
They cried: "Woe to us! We were indeed wrongdoers!"

46. فَمَا زَالَتْ تِّلْكَ دَعْوَىٰهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ حَصِيدًۭا خَـٰمِدِينَ
And that was their cry until We made them as a field that is mown down, silent.

47. وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَـٰعِبِينَ
We did not create the heavens and the earth and everything between them in play.

48. لَّوْ أَرَدنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهْوًۭا لَّٱتَّخَذْنَـٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّآ
If We had intended to take a pastime, We could have taken it from what is with Us...

49. بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِٱلْحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلْبَـٰطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌۭ
Rather, We hurl the truth against falsehood, and it destroys it...

50. وَلَكُمُ ٱلْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ
And woe to you for what you falsely attribute!

51. وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ رُشْدَهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا بِهِ عَـٰلِمِينَ
And We had certainly given Abraham his sound judgment before, and We knew him well.

52. إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَـٰذِهِ ٱلتَّمَاثِيلُ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنتُمْ لَهَا عَـٰكِفُونَ
When he said to his father and his people, "What are these statues to which you are devoted?"

53. قَالُوا۟ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا لَهَا عَـٰبِدِينَ
They said, "We found our forefathers worshipping them."

54. قَالَ لَقَدْ كُنتُمْ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمْ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
He said, "You and your forefathers have certainly been in clear error."

55. قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ أَمْ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱللَّـٰعِبِينَ
They said, "Have you come to us with the truth, or are you just playing?"

56. قَالَ بَل رَّبُّكُمْ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا۠ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِينَ
He said, "No! Your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, who created them, and I am of those who testify to that."

57. وَتَٱللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصْنَـٰمَكُم بَعْدَ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ مُدْبِرِينَ
"And by Allah, I will surely plan against your idols after you have turned and gone away."

58. فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذَٰذًا إِلَّا كَبِيرًۭا لَّهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ يَرْجِعُونَ
So he made them into pieces, except a large one among them, so that they might return to it \[and question].

59. قَالُوا۟ مَن فَعَلَ هَـٰذَا بِـَٔالِهَتِنَآ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
They said, "Who has done this to our gods? Indeed, he is of the wrongdoers."

60. قَالُوا۟ سَمِعْنَا فَتًى يَذْكُرُهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُۥٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ
They said, "We heard a young man mention them who is called Abraham."

61. قَالُوا۟ فَأْتُوا۟ بِهِ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْيُنِ ٱلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْهَدُونَ
They said, "Then bring him before the eyes of the people so that they may witness."

62. قَالُوٓا۟ أَأَنتَ فَعَلْتَ هَـٰذَا بِـَٔالِهَتِنَا يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ
They said, "Are you the one who did this to our gods, O Abraham?"

63. قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُۥ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَـٰذَا فَسْـَٔلُوهُمْ إِن كَانُوا۟ يَنطِقُونَ
He said, "Rather, this – the biggest of them – did it. So ask them, if they can speak."

64. فَرَجَعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ أَنتُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
So they turned to themselves and said, "Indeed, you are the wrongdoers."

65. ثُمَّ نُكِسُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمْ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ يَنطِقُونَ
Then they reversed themselves, saying, "You certainly know these \[idols] do not speak!"

66. قَالَ أَفَتَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكُمْ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ
He said, "Do you worship besides Allah that which does not benefit you at all or harm you?"

67. أُفٍّۢ لَّكُمْ وَلِمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
"Uff to you and to what you worship besides Allah! Will you not then use reason?"

68. قَالُوا۟ حَرِّقُوهُ وَٱنصُرُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ فَـٰعِلِينَ
They said, "Burn him and support your gods – if you are to act."

69. قُلْنَا يَـٰنَارُ كُونِى بَرْدًۭا وَسَلَـٰمًا عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
We said, "O fire, be coolness and peace upon Abraham."

70. وَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًۭا فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْأَخْسَرِينَ
And they intended for him harm, but We made them the greatest losers.

71. وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّتِى بَـٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا لِلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
And We delivered him and Lot to the land which We had blessed for the worlds.

72. وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ نَافِلَةًۭۖ وَكُلًّۭا جَعَلْنَا صَـٰلِحِينَ
And We gave him Isaac and Jacob in addition, and all \[of them] We made righteous.

73. وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ أَئِمَّةًۭ يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِمْ فِعْلَ ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ
And We made them leaders guiding by Our command, and We inspired them to do good deeds...

74. وَإِقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِيتَآءَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا عَـٰبِدِينَ
...and to establish prayer and give zakāh; and they were worshippers of Us.

75. وَلُوطًۭا ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ حُكْمًۭا وَعِلْمًۭا
And to Lot We gave judgment and knowledge...

76. وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِى كَانَت تَّعْمَلُ ٱلْخَبَـٰٓئِثَ
...and We saved him from the city that practiced wicked deeds...

77. إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمَ سَوْءٍۢ فَـٰسِقِينَ
Indeed, they were a people evil and defiantly disobedient.

78. وَأَدْخَلْنَـٰهُ فِى رَحْمَتِنَآۖ إِنَّهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
And We admitted him into Our mercy. Indeed, he was of the righteous.

79. وَنُوحًا إِذْ نَادَىٰ مِن قَبْلُ فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ
And \[mention] Noah, when he had called \[to Us] before, and We responded to him...

80. فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
...and We saved him and his family from the great affliction.

81. وَنَصَرْنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآۚ
And We helped him against the people who denied Our signs...

82. إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمَ سَوْءٍۢ فَأَغْرَقْنَـٰهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Indeed, they were a people of evil, so We drowned them all.

83. وَدَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيْمَـٰنَ إِذْ يَحْكُمَانِ فِى ٱلْحَرْثِ
And \[mention] David and Solomon, when they judged concerning the field...

84. وَكُنَّا لِحُكْمِهِمْ شَـٰهِدِينَ
And We were witnesses to their judgment.

85. فَفَهَّمْنَـٰهَا سُلَيْمَـٰنَۚ وَكُلًّا ءَاتَيْنَا حُكْمًۭا وَعِلْمًۭا
And We gave understanding of the case to Solomon, and to each \[of them] We gave judgment and knowledge...

86. وَسَخَّرْنَا مَعَ دَاوُۥدَ ٱلْجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحْنَ وَٱلطَّيْرَۚ
And We subjected the mountains to exalt \[Us] along with David – and \[also] the birds...

87. وَعَلَّمْنَـٰهُ صَنْعَةَ لَبُوسٍۢ لَّكُمْ
And We taught him the making of garments (armor) for you...

88. وَلِسُلَيْمَـٰنَ ٱلرِّيحَ عَاصِفَةًۭ تَجْرِى بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّتِى بَـٰرَكْنَا فِيهَاۚ
And to Solomon \[We subjected] the wind blowing forcefully, proceeding by his command to the land We had blessed...

89. وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَـٰلِمِينَ
And We are ever, of all things, Knowing.

90. وَمِنَ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ مَن يَغُوصُونَ لَهُۥ
And of the devils were those who dived for him...

91. وَكُنَّا لَهُمْ حَـٰفِظِينَ
And We were guarding them.

92. وَزَكَرِيَّآ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِى فَرْدًۭا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ
And \[mention] Zechariah, when he called to his Lord, "My Lord, do not leave me alone, while You are the best of inheritors."

93. فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ
So We responded to him, and We gave him John...

94. وَأَصْلَحْنَا لَهُۥ زَوْجَهُۥٓ
And We amended for him his wife...

95. إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ
Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds...

96. وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًۭا وَرَهَبًۭا
And supplicate Us in hope and fear...

97. وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا خَـٰشِعِينَ
And they were humbly submissive to Us.

98. وَٱلَّتِىٓ أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِيهَا مِن رُّوحِنَا
And \[mention] the woman who guarded her chastity, so We blew into her \[garment] from Our Spirit...

99. وَجَعَلْنَـٰهَا وَٱبْنَهَآ ءَايَةًۭ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
And We made her and her son a sign for the worlds.

100. إِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُونِ
Indeed, this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.

101. إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُم مِّنَّا ٱلْحُسْنَىٰٓ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُونَ
Indeed, those for whom the best \[reward] from Us has preceded – they will be kept far away from it (Hell).

102. لَا يَسْمَعُونَ حَسِيسَهَا وَهُمْ فِى مَا ٱشْتَهَتْ أَنفُسُهُمْ خَـٰلِدُونَ
They will not hear its slightest sound, while they enjoy whatever their souls desire – eternally.

103. لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ ٱلْفَزَعُ ٱلْأَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ هَـٰذَا يَوْمُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ
The greatest horror will not grieve them, and the angels will greet them: “This is your Day which you were promised.”

104. يَوْمَ نَطْوِى ٱلسَّمَآءَ كَطَىِّ ٱلسِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِۚ
The Day We will fold the heaven like the folding of a scroll for records...

105. كَمَا بَدَأْنَآ أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍۢ نُّعِيدُهُۥۚ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَآۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَـٰعِلِينَ
As We began the first creation, We will repeat it – a promise binding upon Us. Surely, We will do it.

106. وَلَقَدْ كَتَبْنَا فِى ٱلزَّبُورِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلذِّكْرِ أَنَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِىَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ
And We have already written in the Psalms, after the Reminder, that the earth will be inherited by My righteous servants.

107. وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةًۭ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
And We have not sent you, \[O Prophet], except as a mercy to the worlds.

108. قُلْ إِنَّمَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ أَنَّمَآ إِلَـٰهُكُمْ إِلَـٰهٌۭ وَٰحِدٌۖ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
Say, “It is only revealed to me that your God is One God; so will you submit to Him?”

109. فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُلْ ءَاذَنتُكُمْ عَلَىٰ سَوَآءٍۢۖ
But if they turn away, then say, “I have warned you all equally...

110. وَإِنْ أَدْرِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌ أَم بَعِيدٌۭ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ
...though I do not know whether what you are promised is near or far.

111. إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْتُمُونَ
Surely, He knows what is openly spoken and knows what you conceal.

112. وَإِنْ أَدْرِى لَعَلَّهُۥ فِتْنَةٌۭ لَّكُمْ وَمَتَـٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ
And I do not know – perhaps it is a trial for you and a provision for a time.”
