1. Consistent support for a two-state solution
India firmly backs the establishment of a sovereign, independent, and viable Palestinian state living side by side with Israel within secure and recognized borders, achieved via direct negotiations.

2. Long-standing and unwavering policy
New Delhi’s position remains steady: it advocates resuming direct talks for a two-state solution and underscores that this policy has seen no change over decades.

3. Multilateral UN engagement

(a) India has voted in support of most UN General Assembly resolutions on Palestine, including condemning settlements, and has abstained on resolutions lacking specific mention of Hamas or terrorism.
(b) It contributes regularly to UNRWA (about USD 5 million annually) and disburses humanitarian aid to Palestinians.

4. Condemnation of violence; appeal for restraint and dialogue

(a) India condemned the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack as “terrorist.” It also condemned the loss of civilian life due to the ensuing conflict and urged ceasefire, humanitarian access, and dialogue.
(b) It called for de-escalation and adherence to international humanitarian law .

5. Balancing diplomatic relations

(a) India maintains strong ties with both Israel and Palestine—hosting embassies for both countries. It engages with Israel strategically while consistently supporting Palestinian sovereignty.
(b) High-level diplomatic exchanges occur with Palestinian leadership, affirming India's principled position .

✅ India’s official policy toward Palestine is characterized by:
