However, Allah has made a clear distinction between trade and interest:
While interest guarantees a fixed return without any real risk or effort, and gambling involves high risk with the hope of gain through chance, both are prohibited (haram) in Islam. Why? Because they lack productive work, and income is generated purely through luck, not lawful effort.“Those who consume interest claim, ‘Trade is like interest.’ But Allah has permitted trade and forbidden interest…” — Surah Al-Baqarah 2:275
