1. “Let there be no compulsion in religion...”
This verse is a universal principle: faith must come from conviction, not coercion.“لَا إِكْرَاهَ فِي الدِّينِ ۖ
Truth stands out clearly from falsehood…”
Surah Al-Baqarah (2:256)
2. “Your duty is only to convey the message.”
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was commanded only to invite, not to force.“فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ الْبَلَاغُ وَعَلَيْنَا الْحِسَابُ”
“Your responsibility is only to convey the message; the reckoning is Ours.”
Surah Ar-Ra’d (13:40)
3. “To you your religion, and to me mine.”
Prophet Muhammad’s Example“لَكُمْ دِينُكُمْ وَلِيَ دِينِ”
Surah Al-Kafirun (109:6)
A declaration of peaceful coexistence, even with those who do not believe.
The Prophet ﷺ never forced anyone to convert to Islam, even when he held power in Madinah and Makkah. Non-Muslims lived peacefully under Muslim rule, including Jews, Christians, and polytheists.
* Da'wah (inviting) is done with wisdom, not force.
* Islam allows non-Muslims to live peacefully in Muslim lands with their own beliefs.
* Forcing someone into Islam would invalidate the very essence of iman (faith), which requires free will.
> No one can be forced to accept Islam.
> Islam commands Muslims to invite others with wisdom, compassion, and respect, never through pressure or violence.
> In fact if someone forcefully accepts Islam, it is not permissible to do so.
