Fraud: Apps finding location based on mobile number

There are many promotions on social about apps which help you find location just by entering the mobile number of other user. Please note that it is illegal and impossible to find location of other person using his phone number. You cannot find location of other person without legal permission from the court. Hence, even if some police calls you and claims that he has your location, do not believe him directly. A legal warrant from court is required to track your location.

Such promotions lure you to install the app (usually from third party websites) on your mobile phone. These apps are not available in playstore. When you install such third party apps out of curiosity, they hack into your mobile and collect sensitive information like your personal images, contact details, OTPs and blackmail you or withdraw money from your bank accounts without your consent.

Hence, please be careful before installing any such apps on your mobile. As they may breach your privacy.
